Privacy
- The Dubplate Studio app collects nothing and sends nothing about you. The only thing it goes online for is a new version of itself, and only if you say yes.
- Your music, and everything you organize around it, stays on your computer. Clay House Software never sees any of it.
- This website has no cookies, no analytics and no trackers.
- If you email, your message is used to answer you and for nothing else.
The app
It sends nothing
Dubplate Studio has no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking and no license check, and it never sends your music, your library or anything about you to Clay House Software or to anyone else. The app turns away web requests of every kind before they leave it, with the one exception below, which is off until you turn it on.
Updates
The first time Dubplate Studio opens, it asks whether to keep itself up to date. Until you answer, and whenever updates are off, it makes no connections at all. While they're on, about once a day it asks this website for one small file that says what the newest version is, and when there's a newer one, it downloads it from this website. Neither carries anything about you or your library: no account, no identifier, no list of anything. The download names only the app, with no version. Like any visit to a website, both reach this site's host from your internet address — see This website for what the host keeps.
Nothing installs unless you say so, or you've chosen to update automatically. Change it, or turn it off, in Settings.
The one thing that does reach the internet is something you ask for: a link to an artist's Spotify or SoundCloud page opens in your web browser, the way any link would.
Your files
Dubplate Studio reads the audio and project files in the folders you sync. It never changes, moves, renames or deletes them. When you export, it writes new files to a folder you choose and leaves your originals exactly as they were.
When a song's file has moved, Dubplate Studio goes looking for it: it checks the file names on your connected drives and in your Downloads, Desktop, Documents, Music and Movies folders for the one it has lost. It's matching a name. Nothing else about those files is opened or kept, and none of it leaves your computer. macOS asks you before Dubplate Studio can look on a removable drive.
What Dubplate Studio keeps
Everything you build in Dubplate Studio — which songs are where, your folders, records and running orders, artwork, lyrics, notes, voice memos, credits and artist profiles — is stored on your computer, in Dubplate Studio's own folder:
~/Library/Application Support/dubplate
Dubplate Studio keeps dated copies of it in the same place, so a damaged library can be put back. Clay House Software has no copy and no way of getting one. Delete that folder and the library is gone, completely.
Listening to your music
Tempo, key, loudness and waveforms are all worked out on your computer. No audio is ever sent anywhere to be analyzed. Dubplate Studio only uses your microphone when you record a voice memo, and macOS asks you first.
This website
This site uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. It loads nothing from anyone else — no outside fonts, scripts or images — and keeps nothing in your browser.
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs — the address a request came from, the browser, which page and when — to keep the site running and secure. Clay House Software doesn't use them to identify or follow anyone.
If you write to support@dubplatestudio.com, your message and your address are used to answer you, and for nothing else. They aren't added to a list, shared or sold.
Your information
Clay House Software holds no personal information about you beyond any email you've chosen to send, so there's normally nothing to ask for, correct or delete. If you've written in and want that conversation deleted, say so and it will be.
Neither Dubplate Studio nor this site asks anyone for personal information, whatever their age. Neither is aimed at children under 13.
If this changes
A new version of this policy goes here first, with the date at the top updated. The app starting to collect anything at all would be a big enough change to say so on the front page, not only here.
